Degrees and Certifications:
I am excited to begin my 19th year of teaching this year and be at Frontier Elementary School (Go Mustangs!!). I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, Fresno in 1994, my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from National University in 2002, and a Masters degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix in 2008.
I have a beautiful family I am very proud of. My husband, Mike, is a retired Navy Chief and retired 5th grade teacher. We have five beautiful children; Joshua, 31, who works in South Korea; Jensen, 27, is a 5th grade teacher in King City; Identical twin boys, Austin and Tyler, are 22 years old and juniors in college. Tyler is a music major at SDSU and Austin is attending Fresno State and majoring in Criminology; and last but certainly not least, Alysse, is 19 years old and a Sophomore at West Hills College where she is studying to become a teacher. To round out our family, we have our cats, Theo and Oliver.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, reading, scrapbooking, and traveling.
Two people that were very special to me are the reason as to why I became a teacher. It is because of these two women that I knew at a young age I would become a teacher and have a passion for teaching children. Mrs. Lana Kessler, my grandma, and Mrs. Dorothy Nichols, my 5th grade teacher. My favorite subjects in school were reading and social studies.
