Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!

My name is Nana Lee. I am thrilled to be rejoining the Pioneer team. From August 2014 to February 2015, I worked as the Resource Specialist and Special Day long-term substitute Teacher at Pioneer Elementary School and I am excited to be back working among such dedicated colleagues. Originally from Illinois, I moved to California to be closer to family. I completed my undergraduate studies at Northern Illinois University majoring in education and finished my California Education Specialist Credential in 2017. For most of my career, I have taught students with a variety of educational needs. My experiences have helped me develop a philosophy that focuses on meeting the academic and individual needs of each student. For the upcoming school year, I want to get to know each student, build upon their strengths and provide them with tools to become successful independent learners. I plan to accomplish this by utilizing level appropriate reading materials to improve comprehension, writing workshops to help students express thoughts clearly and with hands-on math activities.
