Fourth & Fifth Grades 

I look forward to a rewarding twenty-sixth year of teaching at Pioneer Elementary. This year is a special year because I am teaching a combination 4th and 5th grade class! Although I am currently teaching at my favorite grade levels, I have enjoyed teaching 2nd through 5th grades. Working with our older students gives me an opportunity to help them build strong work habits, strengthen their independence, and develop them into leaders.  This year's motto is to "Stay Positive, Believe in Yourself, and Make It Happen!"

Born and raised in Santa Clara, California, I moved to the central San Joaquin Valley after getting married in 1988. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development from the California State University, Fresno, and received my California Clear Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential from Chapman University. In 2006 and 2015, I was honored to be chosen as Pioneer District's Teacher of the Year, and in 2016 I was selected as Kings County Teacher of the Year. 

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, three sons, daughter-in-laws, and grandsons. I love nature and numbers (that's why I am excited to share my love of math and science with my students)! Other hobbies include reading, playing and perpetuating old-time music (fiddle, guitar, and ukulele), gardening, and traveling. Let's be the best that we can be!  If you put forth your best effort and have faith in yourself, you will always be successful!
