Mrs. Marisa Duarte

Hi there!  My name is Marisa Duarte.  I was born and raised here in Hanford, California.  I attended Monroe School, Woodrow Wilson Jr. High School, and Hanford East Campus High School.  After I graduated high school, I attended College of the Sequoias and received my AA degree.  I then moved to Fresno and attended Fresno State University.  I earned my BA and Multiple Subject Clear Credential with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education.

It's crazy to say that this is my twenty-third year as a teacher!  The time is flying!  That's what happens when you enjoy what you do!  I have worked for the Pioneer Elementary School District for 9 years now.  Prior to Pioneer, I was a teacher at Kings River-Hardwick School.  Throughout the years, I have taught kindergarten, second, third, and fourth grade.  As an educator, I appreciate and take in every moment with my students because they often have so much to teach as well.  The way they learn and express themselves can change from year to year or student to student.  It's all so interesting!

While I am not at work, I love spending time with family and friends!  I can be found working out at the gym, watching my boys play sports, traveling, or just relaxing at home.  Although I love my career, being a mother and wife is a beautful blessing.

I am looking forward to a fun-filled school year with my class!  Teaching is not only a job, but rather, a passion of mine.  It is important that my students and their parents know that I am here for them whenever guidance and assistance is necessary.  I strive to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable, so please say hello if you're ever on campus!
